Make a difference – Volunteer at the Copenhagen Historical Market

As a volunteer, you get the opportunity to experience the market in a very special way. You get to get behind the curtain, experience the festive evenings by the fire and become part of an amazing community.

We promise:

  • An amazing community
  • The opportunity to make YOUR mark on the historical market.
  • Free catering and the option to stay overnight in shared tents.
  • Free access to the market when you’re not on duty.
  • Volunteer activities such as volunteer parties and the like.

We expect you to:

  • Good mood and drive.
  • That you are on the market at least 2 of the 4 opening days.

All volunteers are divided into different teams with different tasks. When you sign up, you can choose which team(s) you would like to join.

It’s also possible to help with set-up or take-down, we can always use more help. So if you’d like to hone your tent skills and build a lot of installations, please sign up to help us before/after the market. There will of course be catering and the possibility to stay overnight.

If you receive public benefits, you should be aware that a number of rules may apply

The kitchen team makes sure all volunteers are fed.

The work consists of preparing and serving breakfast and lunch, preparing snacks and drinks for volunteers and serving dinner. The work takes place in the heart of our volunteer camp, where our kitchen is set up.

The service team ensures that the site is neat and tidy during our opening hours.

The service team is the team where you spend the most time on site. So it’s a good bet if you want to see the whole market.

The service team rounds the site, takes out trash, empties bins and helps with ad hoc tasks.

The primary tasks of the sanitation team are to ensure proper hygiene standards for
toilet and shower trolleys.

Your tasks will include superficial cleaning, replenishing toilet paper and other ad hoc tasks.

On the handyman team, you’ll help keep the practical things behind the event in order.

The work can be anything from electrical, carpentry, lugging things around the site or other practical tasks.

It’s an advantage if you have a craftsman background or just a good hands-on approach.
